How do I use the mad catz wii fit charger? It never works!?

I recently bought the mad catz wii fit charger. I plugged it into my wii fit and to my pc, and the little green LED light went on. After about 24 hours, I went to play my wii fit, only to find that the battery hadn’t charged at all! So I tried plugging it into my actual wii, but the light only went on if I left the wii on, which I obviously can’t do all night. I tried for a bit, but my wii fit still didn’t charge! Anyway, I want to know this: Is there something wrong with my charger? Is there anything specific I should know about using this charger? And, am I doing it wrong or something? I’ve been dying to play my wii fit and would really love to know!
