NDSL + bigben + homebrew ??

My kid has gotten a Nintendo DS lite for xmas. Now we want to be able to use this to the fullest and have found sites talking about homebrew / backedup games. I have NO idea what all these sites talk about, besides that I need to buy another thingy for the NDSL. So far we have bought the Bigben Reader SD , which allows us to listen to music, view pics + videos. We also bought a 2gb SD card, it is actualy a micro sd card, so it will work with other stuff we buy later on also. So … can someone tell me if there is a software or ‘hack’ to be able to use this Bigben to run this homebrew/backup ?? please only answer if you have knowledge on this specific product, dont just write “get this other product”. Thanks.
