Is Playstation 3 worth the price since?

Basically DVD is probably like 90% of the market share with movies and for the PS3 you are basically just paying for a gaming system that you can get with the Nintendo Wii, I noticed the Nintendo Wii has more of a fun factor involved, I think in about a year when Blu-ray makes it so that DVD’s are the next Beta-max, than it would be a good price, I think everyone should not buy a PS3 so that sony is forced to lower the PS3 somemore because without the consumer market they won’t have good games on there and few games at high cost really does suck for consumers, I want to know peoples stand on this, is it really worth getting? and is the price fair? Technology grows within months and prices will eventually drop, but is it truly worth the $400 dollars for a new ps3 that is still not proven to be better than xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii as a gaming machine. The reason we bought a PS2 was because they had all these great 3rd party games to come and hardly any real competition, what about PS3?
