Losing a match to an unlockable character in Super Smash Bros Brawl?

In Super Smash Bros Brawl, after I completed hard Classic with Link I was battling Ganondorf to join my party and I lost. Is it possible to battle him again so I can unlock him and make him join my party?

of course. just repeat the steps you did, or unlock him adventure mode.
